Following some initial reports, developer Visceral Games on Wednesday officially announced that EA Access members on Xbox One will get to play Battlefield Hardline on March 12, a full five days before the game launches to the public on March 17.
Starting on March 12, anyone with an EA Access membership ($5/month or $30/year) can p lay Hardline for 10 hours. The version of Hardline available through EA Access the full version (with one caveat), meaning you can play single-pl ayer and multiplayer.
Multiplayer is fully unlocked, and all your progress will carry forward to the full game. However, for single-player, only Hardline's prologue and first chapter will be available to play during the pre-release period. But like multiplayer, your progress will move with you to the full game, meaning you won't need to replay those chapters.
EA Access members also save 10 percent on all EA digital content, meaning they'll be able to buy Hardline for around $54 instead of $60.
In other EA Access news, Electronic Arts this week added NBA Live 15 to the service's growing library of free games.
Currently, EA Access is available only on Xbox One. Sony initia lly said EA Access did not offer a strong enough value for PlayStation 4 owners, though the company has since explained that it the service could one day show up on PS4 if certain business requirements are met.
