Capcom's 2012 fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will be removed from Xbox Live and PlayStation Network starting next week, the publisher has announced.

"Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that if you don't own Marvel vs. Capcom Origins yet, you may want to pick it up before it goes away," the company wrote on the Capcom Unity blog.

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will be removed from PSN in the US and Europe on December 23, while the last day to buy it o n Xbox Live globally will be December 31.

Capcom didn't explain exactly why the game is being taken down, though it likely has to do with the expiration of a licensing arrangement. We've followed up with Capcom for mor e information.

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is a $15 bundle that includes HD versions of 90s arcade games Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom. If you already own the game, you'll still be able to play after it is officially de-listed next week.
