Publisher Square Enix released a brand new Final Fantasy XV trailer on Thursday, offering new insights and ideas on how the game will play.
The two-and-a-half minute video opens with a quartet of heroes grouped together in a convertible, riding through wide stretches of land populated with mystical creatures. The journey these four heroes embark on appears to be at the heart of the story.
Though details on gameplay are still thin, the video suggests Final Fantasy XV fea tures battles that play out in real-time--an uncommon decision for a core numbered game in the series. Also hinted at is a day-night cycle, as well as co-op heroics.
Series veteran, Tetsuya Nomura, has announced he has stepped away from directing FFXV to focus on Kingdom Hearts III, where he serves as director. A demo for the game will be packaged with Final Fantasy Type-0 in March 2015.
The trailer can be viewed in the video above, with two new images featured below.
